Sisal twine is made from fibres taken from the leaves of the sisal plant (Agave Sisalana).
As such, it’s 100% natural and boasts a very traditional ‘twine’ appearance – light brown in colour, with a slightly rugged and hairy texture. It also has excellent eco-credentials and is fully biodegradable, decomposing naturally and minimising pollution.
Aside from being environmentally friendly, sisal twine has an impressive level of inherent strength, with little to no stretching. It demonstrates excellent resistance to sunlight, as well as harsh weather conditions, and is flexible and soft-to-touch whilst still providing grip and traction.
A reliable choice that looks good, does good and performs well.
Most often, sisal twine is used for general packaging purposes and parcel tying. However, it’s also suitable for a range of other domestic and commercial applications.
For example, thanks to its natural construction and versatility, it’s a staple in the home garden – frequently put to work in the potting shed and used for everything from making tomato trellises and supporting plant growth to hanging decorative items and creating plant hangers.
Sisal is also frequently utilised in the agricultural industry, usually as a binder twine on smallholdings and farms.
Please note, our website has lots of information and advice on our full twines and strings collection. So if you have a question about the sisal twine for sale in our store, or you’re unsure which ply and runnage is best for your needs, it’s worth taking a look around.
