Our website is packed full of advice to ensure you select the right twine for your needs – and our in-house experts are always on hand to help with your purchase.

Which type of twine do I need?

Our twines and strings collection can be split roughly into two categories – natural and synthetic.

Natural products – such as sisal twine and jute string – have a traditional appearance and are inherently strong, durable and resistant to sunlight. They also demonstrate little to no stretching, and are 100% biodegradable, making them an ideal option for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Primarily, these natural twines are used in the home and garden (e.g. for plant support, tomato trellises etc.) and for arts and crafts projects such as jewellery making, crocheting and gift wrapping.

Our synthetic twines and strings – made from polypropylene and polyethylene – are also strong and durable, with excellent UV resistance. But by contrast, these tend to be more widely used for industrial, agricultural and commercial applications (e.g. whipping, farm bailing, tying bundles etc.).

If you’re unsure which is the right twine or string for your requirements, be sure to take a look at our ‘Help Choosing Rope’ page. This should help to point you in the right direction. Further information can also be found in our blog.

What is the difference between twine and string?

Twines and strings look very similar and there’s actually very little difference between them. They’re both made from 2-3 strands or threads that are twisted together. But twine is typically slightly thicker and stronger than string (yet thinner than rope).

Ultimately, the right product for you will depend on the material from which it is made (i.e. sisal, jute, cotton, polyester etc.).To assist with your purchase, lots of additional information can be found on our website. But if you’re still unsure, you’re welcome to contact us at any time.

How much will my order cost?

This depends on the type of twine or string you wish to buy, as well as how much you need. But rest assured, you won’t find better prices anywhere else.

As an exclusive online supplier, we’re able to save on overheads – and we pass those savings on to you as our valued customer. That’s why, across the board, all of our products are so affordable.

We always keep a close eye on the market, to ensure our prices are as competitive as possible. The cost of all of our single balls of twine and twine multi-packs are clearly marked, including VAT – so the amount you see is the amount you’ll pay at checkout. And our delivery charges are nominal.
