Brilliant tool
I bought this item for my partner who amazingly required a Swedish fid for het Basket weaving. Yes it can be used for other things. I personally use it for undertaking rope workings that I use in bushcraft. Not only good for seafarers. Ropes Direct has supplied me with many different ropes for use on my canoe and also for my Tipi. Good value
Bought this when I ordered some 12mm Manila rope to make my own fenders for my boat. The description on the website says it’s good enough for ropes up to 16mm dia? I struggled with 12mm so I wish I had bought the large fid. in my opinion this would be ok for ropes up to 10mm. Apart from that it’s a nice tool and delivery was exceptionally quick.Graham (30 Aug 2020, 10:06)
