Where longer rope ladders are needed, access to inspection chambers for example, we use polyester rope and hardwood rungs. The rope passes through a hole in the rung before being knotted around it. This allows for maximum strength transference from the rope into the ladder. The knot also prevents the rung from moving up or down.
