It’s amazing what skilled hands can do with our rope…
Steve “Tag” Saint used to be an RNLI Coxswain and grew up with boats and ropes. Now he uses that lifetime’s experience to make some absolutely brilliant gifts and houseware.
Check out our main picture – a rope design embedded in resin to create an occasional stand with hardwood legs that Steve makes. It’s so cool!
And then a big range of Monkey Fists (the ball-shaped rope knots) which can be used for things like key holders and doorstops, plus dog leads, coasters and doormats.
Which rope?
Steve uses our Synthetic Hemp and Jute for much of this work, and a few other types of rope too. And we are proud to see our rope used to such good effect.
Steve told us: “Since retiring from the RNLI I am now working towards making this a full time business. I would like to run workshops teaching people to make their own rope projects.
“Before becoming a full time Coxswain I spent many years working in a boat yard in Aldeburgh, so I was always surrounded by rope! My childhood was spent watching and learning from the fishermen mending their nets, and lifeboatmen tying knots and splices.”
If you’d like to ask Steve to make you something from his growing range, he’s setting up some dedicated Socials. In the meantime get him on tag.saint@outlook.com or on 07800 667997.
Why RopesDirect?
As our relationship with Steve has grown, supplying him with the rope he needs to make his products, we asked how he found us, and why he chooses to buy from us. After all, our business thrives on responding to feedback, good or challenging.
“Since retiring and moving to Norwich with my partner, I couldn’t believe my luck when, researching for rope, RopesDirect popped up! I use them because they are an incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional company, the service is second to none, product range and price amazing, and, for me, very local.”
If we are not local to you we can provide the very same service, and huge range of rope and twines, and get them to you within a day or two using our brilliant couriers.
